How to cope with acute STRESS can be remembered by utilising the word as an acronym:
-Slow down in the moment, sit-down -Take deeper breaths -Reset -Eat something healthy and drink water -Stretch -Say clearly what you would like or need Recognising whether another person is utilising a rational thought process can factor into choosing when to engage in a difficult conversation with him or her. If that person is in a reactive or irrational mindset, it may be better to wait.
Just because you can do something extra at work doesn't mean that you need to or should. Part of managing your career and avoiding burnout is knowing when to say 'no' to pieces of work outside of the scope of your job description with grace and confidence.
